Groups that do not wish to compete may receive a written evaluation of their performance and a rating of Superior, Excellent, or Good. They will also receive a plaque for participating. Once you are registered and you chose to have a rating only you CANNOT switch to competing.
First through Third place IN EACH DIVISION will receive a trophy. A listing of divisions can be found on the registration form. Individual awards for outstanding soloist and accompanist (chorus) and outstanding soloist and section (jazz) will also be presented.
Two adjudicators will provide written comments and scores.
WARM UP & PERFORMANCE
All groups must arrive one hour prior to performance time. Participants will have 30 minutes to set-up, perform, and vacate the designated picnic shelter. A maximum of three selections or 20 minutes per performance will be allowed. Each school must supply its own set-up crew. A separate warm-up area will be provided. Marching bands will be marching a parade route of approximately 20 minutes in length. Parade will start at 11:00 a.m. on May 25. Please arrive at least 1 hour in advance. Marching bands that choose to compete will be competing against all marching bands that day.
Jazz: Music stands and chairs
Choral: Sound system with two microphones, risers, music stands, upright piano, tape player, and CD player.
Instrumental: Bass drum, bells, xylophone, chimes, timpani, music stands, and chairs.
No keyboards, drum sets or amplifiers will be provided.
